City Tour
$12 US per person
This three-hour bus tour takes you through the main neighborhoods of the Argentinean Capital. You’ll see the Plaza of Mayo, Casa Rosada, Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo. The tour continues to the traditional neighborhood of San Telmo and La Boca, a typical Italian neighborhood where tango and football are the main characters. Then on to the Puerto Madero, the restaurant district; the north zone, including Recoleta; and the Cultural Center and the Recoleta Cemetery. Finally, the tour will visit the Palermo neighborhood where the Zoo, Botanic Garden and the Woods are located. |

Buenos Aires and its Neighborhoods (Barrios Portenos)

Get to know Buenos Aires in this panoramic bus tour, with stops along the way at several Buenos Aires neighborhoods. Highlights include Palacio Legislativo (the Congress Building); Instituto Sanmartiniano and Barrio Parque, both designed in 1912 by the architect Carlos Thays; Parque 3 de Febrero, the largest green space in the city with a famous rose garden; Barrio de Belgrano, the city’s Chinatown; the Chacarita neighborhood with one of the oldest cemeteries in the world; the nightlife areas called Palermo Hollywood and Palermo Soho; a small tango show in the neighborhood where tango was born; and the famous San Telmo neighborhood. |
Delta del Tigre

Enjoy a catamaran boat tour and a fascinating view of the River Paraná Delta, a 14,000 square km subtropical rainforest studded with small islands. On the way to the boat launch site at Tigre (30 km from Buenos Aires), we will visit the northern residential suburbs and pass by the President’s Residence in Olivos. Then participants will board the De la Costa Train, offering a look at luxurious homes and mansions built on ravines by the River Plate and featuring a stop at San Isidro.

Estancia Don Silvano is a country estate located in Exaltación de la Cruz, just 87 km from the center of Buenos Aires. Here at this typical Argentinian country ranch, you can sample “empanadas” (typical pastries) and enjoy a “parrillada” – a delicious Argentinian barbecue, accompanied by excellent local wines. In addition to a performance of folk music and dancing, you will be entertained by a special show of “Pampas gauchos” riding their horses and racing. And, you can go horseback riding yourself or ride in a horse-drawn sulky. |
La Plata

This tour focuses on an appreciation of architecture, culture, religion and the natural sciences. The city of La Plata is a magnificent example of state-of-the-art city planning of the 19th century. We will visit its famous neo-gothic cathedral, its diagonal streets, the astronomy observatory and the Argentino theatre. Temaiken Park combines botanical gardens, a zoo, aquarium, and natural history and anthropology museums in one location. We will see white tigers, hippos submerged in clear waters, and an exciting eight-screen cinema production. A park guide will accompany us for the entire tour, to provide information on all the park’s features including the veterinary hospital and farm. |
