TA02.1 Development of Web-Enabled Decision Support Systems

Distributing processes across multiple tiers is an efficient way to solve large analytical problems and to exploit the vast potential of the Internet. SAS provides software that streamlines the development of such Web-enabled DSSs. We discuss and illustrate the potential of several frameworks for Web-based optimization.

TA02.2 Leveraging Optimization Skills via e-Optimization.com

The e-Optimization.com website offers a wide range of programs that help both new and experienced participants leverage their skills and experience. The site presents a growing collection of news, chat forums, practical case studies and events as well as contact information for key people in industry and academia.

TA02.3 Use of Optimization & the Web for Business IT Coordination & Planning

I will describe the synergistic use of optimization and the Web for an application for enterprise-wide business-IT coordination and planning. This Web-based application has resource-constrained project scheduling in its planning core that requires optimization. I will also present design considerations and implementation issues resulting from the use of the Web.

TA02.4 Optimization Service Provision: A European Union Project

The OSP project aims to provide practitioners access to optimization software tools and optimization-based vertical solutions (for several domains) on a subscription basis. We use the Internet as a platform and adopt the ASP model to develop an OSP for both analysts and end users.
