- TA42.2 OpenTS: An Open Source Java Tabu Search Framework
- Robert Harder;

OpenTS is a Java tabu search framework that helps analysts implement the popular tabu search meta-heuristic in a well-structured, object-oriented design. Among the key advantages: works with any problem type offloads repetitive functions logically organizes the tabu search exploits multi-processor computers and integrates goal programming.

The MPS-file format for mathematical programming has been extremely useful, but is showing its age. New technologies such as 64bit hardware, stochastic solvers, and XML require new capabilities in the open standard format. This panel will provide a forum for discussing current problems and proposed solutions.
