Real-world Skills for Decision Analysts and
OR/MS Professionals
Sunday, April 13, 2008
Held in conjunction with the INFORMS Practice Conference, this workshop provides information and practice in using the “soft skills” needed to work with people to employ the techniques of decision analysis in particular, and other operations research and management science more generally.
The workshop is actually a pair of half-day workshops. The morning session focuses on working with individuals and the afternoon session focuses on working with groups. Designed to complement each other, attending both will provide a comprehensive review. But if your schedule permits only attending one session, both are independent and valuable.
Who should attend: Those who employ decision analysis or operations research/management science techniques. Anyone interested in developing their interpersonal or group facilitation skills. A basic understanding of decision analysis or operations research/management science is assumed for workshop participants.
Topics include:
- Morning Session
- Interviewing
- Elicitation
- Presenting Results
- Implementing DA in organizations
|
- Afternoon Session
- Conflict Management
- Meeting Management
