- MB19.1 A GRASP Heuristic in Solving a Generalized Local Access Network Problem
We present a metaheuristic, GRASP, to solve a generalized LAN problem that considers optimally assigning N users to M capacitated network processors. Each processor is bound to 2 capacity constraints. Computational algorithms and results are presented.
- MB19.2 Analyzing the Development of Local Competition in the Ohio Telecommunications Market using Design of Experiment
DOE methods will be used to construct an analysis model for assessing the development of local competition in the Ohio telecommunications market. The factor set that we intend to use includes the geographic location of the switching units, their fiber connectivity and the advanced services that each switching unit is capable of providing.
- MB19.3 withdrawn - author request of 4/11
- MB19.4 Predicting how Telecommunications Ads Affect Customer Values
Advertising and service levels can affect rates at which customers add and drop telecommunications products or vendors. We show how to learn dynamic state-transition models from customer data to describe and predict how ad campaigns and service initiatives affect customer attrition and purchasing behaviors and economic values over time.
