MEETING LOCATION: CHINA NATIONAL CONVENTION CENTER
All meeting events, other than the Tuesday evening banquet, will be held at the China National Convention Center, 7 Tianchen East Rd., Chaoyang District, Beijing.
TRANSPORTATION FROM AIRPORT-PRINT OUT ADDRESS FOR TAXI
A taxi from the airport to the INFORMS hotels and the Convention Center is approximately 100RMB ($15US) and takes about 30 minutes. We recommend that you print out the hotel address in Chinese characters and give it to the taxi driver, so your destination is clear (click here and print out the PDF). There is also an airport express train (25RMB) that goes directly from the airport into the city. See information here .
REGISTRATION OPENS SATURDAY, JUNE 23
In Beijing, you can pick up your registration badge and materials at the following times: Saturday, 4:00-7:00pm; Sunday-Tuesday, 7:00am-6:00pm; Wednesday, 7:00am-1:00pm. These are also the onsite registration hours.
AV FOR TECHNICAL SESSIONS: PLEASE BRING YOUR LAPTOP, ADAPTOR
All session rooms will be equipped with LCD projectors, but presenters must bring their laptops or make arrangements to use another person’s computer. Please note that overhead projectors will not be available. You may also need an adaptor to connect to the local voltage in Beijing (220).

SOCIAL EVENTS: WELCOME RECEPTION, TUESDAY BANQUET and MORE
Our program of social events is open to all meeting registrants and registered guests. The Welcome Reception (Sunday, 6:00-7:30pm) is an opportunity to meet with your colleagues early in the meeting. A special Banquet and Performance (Tuesday, 6:15-10:00pm) will be held at The Golden Hall, Huwan Hotel (East), in Hot Spring Leisure City, a northwest suburb about 30 minutes from the Convention Center (round-trip busing will be provided). Details on both events will be in the printed program. Other by-invitation events, including an alumni reception hosted by Nankai University and a reception honoring John D.C. INFORMS INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE
The INFORMS IAC invites you to attend two special sessions on Sunday, June 24: a panel discussion on “Recent Developments in Industrial Engineering in Asia” (SA13, 9:00-10:30am) and another session on “Overview of INFORMS and Analytics Initiatives” (SB13, 11:00am-12:30PM). Complete information is available in the online program search and will be shown in the printed program.
PLENARY PRESENTATIONS & TUTORIALS
Four eminent scholars and practitioners will present plenary talks: Darrell Duffie, Stanford University, on Monday morning; Avishai Mandelbaum, Technion, Monday afternoon; Brenda Dietrich, IBM, Tuesday morning; and Yuzhuo Zhang, Shenhua Group Corp., Tuesday afternoon. Eight tutorials will cover a range of topics, from “Recent Linear Programming Developments” to “Marriage of Simulation and Optimization: Theories and Examples.”
EXHIBITS & SOFTWARE TUTORIALS
Eleven companies will showcase their products and services during the meeting. In addition, software tutorials will be offered on Tuesday.
BEIJING AND CHINA TOURS
It’s not too late to sign up for one of our exciting Beijing tours. Our tour agency, MCI Group Beijing, will staff a tour desk during the meeting where you can select a tour.
BADGE REQUIRED FOR ALL EVENTS
Please wear your registration badge for all meeting events, including technical sessions. For social events such as the Welcome Reception and Tuesday evening banquet, your badge will serve as your ticket. All attendees, including speakers and session chairs, must register and pay the registration fee.
You can purchase a wireless Internet card from the Business Centre at the China National Convention Center, located on the 3rd floor. The fees are (approximate in U.S. $) $13 for one day, $18 for two days, or $21 for three days.

The 2012 INFORMS International Conference is scheduled for June 24-27, 2012 in Beijing, China. On behalf of the Organizing and Program Committees, I invite you to attend this international meeting. The conference will be hosted by Tsinghua University and will take place at the National Convention Center in the Beijing Olympic Park. A wide range of accommodation is available around the Park, from budget accommodation up to seven-star hotels.
The theme of the conference will be OR/MS for a Sustainable World. The role of OR/MS in the delivery of social, environmental and economic benefits is increasing in importance but also presents unique challenges and opportunities. The 2012 INFORMS International Conference will be a showcase of relevant research that addresses these challenges and opportunities in the OR/MS context. It will also provide an opportunity for networking for all participants.
