Qing joined Google ten years ago and worked on a wide range of analytic projects that include forecasting,
impact of macro-economics, auction and bidding, price optimization, user and advertiser behaviour, causal inferences, etc. He collaborates with many teams across the company and provides insights and algorithmic supports for product, engineering, operations, sales and finance. He monitors Google query and revenue closely and coined up the original phrase “Google as the barometer of the world”. In the past few years, he has been a frequent speaker in industry conferences on big data, uncovering economic and consumer insights from search trends and other topics.
Prior to Google, he served as a lead scientist in supply and demand chain management for firms such as SAP, Manhattan Associates, and GAP. Qing Wu received a Ph.D. in Operations Research and Management from Stanford University. He also received a master of Applied Mathematics from University of Kansas.

Gang Yu is the co-founder and Executive Chairman of New Peak Group (www.111.com.cn). Dr. Yu received Ph. D. in Decision Sciences of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to founding New Peak Group, he was the co-founder and Chairman of Yihaodian – a leading ecommerce company in China. Dr. Yu was the Vice President; Worldwide Procurement at Dell Inc. He also served as Vice President, Worldwide Supply Chain Operations at Amazon.com.
Dr. Yu has received numerous international awards for recognizing his achievements including: the 2002 Franz Edelman Management Science Achievement Award from INFORMS, the 2002 IIE Transaction Award for Best Application Paper, the 2003 Outstanding IIE Publication Award from the Institute of Industrial Engineers, the 2012 Martin K. Starr Excellence in Production and Operations Management Practice Award from POMS, in addition to many awards. Dr. Yu has published over 80 journal articles, 4 books, and Dr. Yu holds 3 US patents.
New Peak Group has four subsidiaries: Yiyaowang – the largest B2C online pharmacy in China; Yizhen – among the top mobile apps in online medical services; Fangkuaiyi – a B2B drug trading platform; and Yihao Pharmacy – a chain drugstore. Yiyaowang received an investment of over 1 billion RMB in digital and mobile health this year.

Thomas L. Magnanti
Thomas Magnanti is the founding President of the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), and Institute Professor and former Dean of Engineering at M.I.T. His technical expertise is in large-scale optimization and its applications in telecommunications, transportation, production planning and scheduling, and logistics. He is the co-author of two textbooks (Network Flows and Applied Mathematical Programming) and numerous research articles.
Professor Magnanti has led several centers and programs at M.I.T. including, as the founding co-director, MIT’s Leaders for Manufacturing and System Design and Management Programs and, as founding director, the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART). He has served as president of ORSA, INFORMS and IFORS and editor of Operations Research He has also headed one third of the MIT Sloan School of Management, and has served on a number of university, corporate and government boards and councils.
Professor Magnanti has received numerous educational and research awards including four honorary degrees. He is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
He has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Syracuse University, and masters’ degrees in Statistics and in Mathematics as well as a Ph.D. in Operations Research, all from Stanford University.
