James Mansfield is a Data Scientist and Commercial Leader. As a global business leader, he combines a commercial expertise and global experience to develop analytics functions within organizations addressing complex, critical business issues in the healthcare and consumer industries. James’ direct management and collaborative cross functional leadership continues to build consultative relationships and analytic vision which motivates analytic teams to make great impact. James’ early career experiences in international strategic marketing, sales and operational excellence have fostered his “storytelling style” when conveying insights and strategic direction to commercial partners. James’ career has been focused in the pharmaceutical, biotech, over-the-counter, consumer package goods, media and financial services industries. Areas of Expertise include Analytic Team Development, Predictive Analytics, HEOR, Change Management, Decision/Data Sciences, Marketing/SFE, Business Insights, Qual/Quant Research, Customer Engagement, Commercial Analytics, Machine Learning/AI, Six Sigma/Project Management, Infection Disease predictions including COVID.

James currently leads Global Quantitative Science & Commercial Analytics for Merck’s ~$3BN Hospital Acute Care products. Prior to Merck, James led North America & Global Insights & Analytics Commercial initiatives for GlaxoSmithKline. Post graduate school and prior to GSK, James was a Management Consultant with ZS Associates, Nielsen Company, IQVIA, PA Consulting and Express Scripts. James spent his early career at AbbVie and Johnson & Johnson as a District Sales Manager, Brand Marketing Manager, Hospital Specialty Sales Representative, Sales Representative and Marketing Communications Associate.

James received his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and BS in Biology & Spanish from Villanova. James is Black Belt Certified in Six Sigma from Rutgers University Lockheed Martin partnership program. James is a certified Project Management Professional.
