Pro Bono Analytics Micro-Volunteering
Help us Help Houston’s Homeless
In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, thousands of people will be working hard for months to help the recovery – countless numbers of people and organizations are lending their time, contributing their expertise, or donating money to help those in need.
In the spirit of “Houston, we solve problems,” INFORMS Pro Bono Analytics has partnered with Star of Hope Mission, a homeless shelter and community, and coordinated a volunteering initiative for the INFORMS Annual Meeting attendees to build toiletry and personal hygiene kits helping make a positive impact in our host city. As much as we need just a few minutes of our attendees time building the kits, this effort to give back cannot be possible without the financial support of our members and conference community.
We need your help!
Thank You to Our Corporate Donors
Reaching Our Goal
Our goal is to provide Star of Hope Mission with 1000 complete toiletry and personal hygiene kits that will be distributed to homeless individuals on the streets of Houston. This effort cannot being possible without the support of our members and conference community. Please consider a monetary donation to assist INFORMS and its members support a city that has lost so much.
A small donation of only $7.00 will help provide a homeless man, woman, or child in need with basic personal hygiene items: Deodorant, band-aids, toothbrush, toothpaste, body lotion, lip balm, wet wipes, sunscreen, bacatracin ointment, razor, comb, hydrocortisone cream, feminine sanitary pads, socks, shampoo, conditioner, soap.
Helping Star of Hope Mission
Star of Hope Mission is a community dedicated to meeting the needs of Houston’s homeless men, women, and their children. Positive life changes are encouraged through structured programs which focus on education, employment, spiritual growth, life management, and recovery from substance abuse. Through the help of more than 7,300 volunteers just like you, they helped show thousands of men, women, and children in Houston the way out of despair.
In the wake of hurricane Harvey, Star of Hope is in desperate need of toiletry and personal hygiene items to provide to their community and assist Houston’s homeless population on their road to recovery.
