Transportation to Hotels
There are three ways to get from the airport to the Convention Center and downtown hotels: Valley Metro Light Rail, shuttle, or taxi. Valley Metro is $1.75 (one-way), Super Shuttle $13, and taxi approximately $18. Complete information, including hours of operation, ishere.
From Your Hotel to Convention Center

Presenters: AV-Bring Your Laptop, Courtesy to Speakers
Computer projectors will be available in every technical session room. Please bring your own laptop (or plan to share with another presenter) and AC power adaptor. Technical assistance will be available for any AV problems. During technical sessions, please turn off cell phones and other mobile devices. Avoid the Lines: Register Now!
If you haven’t registered yet, do it now and avoid lines at on-site registration. Online registration is open through Thursday, October 11 at 11:59pm EST; after that, you must register onsite. Please note if you have a balance due when you arrive, be sure to stand in one of the “On-site” registration lines.

NEW! Mobile App for INFORMS Annual Meeting
In collaboration with Wiley, INFORMS is offering a free web-based mobile appfor smart phone and tablet users. Attendees can use the app to access conference information on the go, including the schedule of sessions and talks, maps of meeting locations, exhibit details, links to Wiley and INFORMS journal information, and more. Information on downloading the app will be available soon. This app represents INFORMS’s first venture into the world of mobile web applications.
INFORMS TV – Another New Conference Feature
Tune in to INFORMS TV during the meeting to catch the latest conference highlights, enjoy “behind the scenes” interviews with meeting speakers and INFORMS leaders, and hear reactions and interviews with attendees like you. Going Green?
If you chose not to receive a hard-copy printed program in Phoenix, you can print out sections of interest before you travel. Click here to print pdfs of all daily sessions and the entire front matter of the program. You can also use the ITINERARY tool in the Program Search and plan your day. All registrants will receive a “Quick Reference” summary brochure in Phoenix. This includes the master track schedule, maps and floor plans, speaker information, listings of special events and community business meetings, and abbreviated information about the major social events.

Go to the INFORMS registration counters in the Convention Center beginning at 7am on Saturday. CIST sessions begin in the Renaissance at 8:30am (Salons 2 and 3); breakfast at 7:30am (Salons 6-8). A registration fee is required for this conference unless you pre-registered.
- DM-HI Workshop
Go to the INFORMS registration counters in the Convention Center beginning at 7am on Saturday. DM-HI begins at 8:30am in the Hyatt, Borein room. A registration fee is required for this workshop unless you pre-registered.

Featuring a hearty menu, including St. Louis style ribs, Arizona vegetarian fajitas, New Mexican three-cheese enchiladas, Californian avocado salad and Oklahoma pecan pie. Free Internet Access & Email Center in Exhibit Hall
Free wireless Internet is available in the Exhibit Hall in the Convention Center, West 301 BCD, along with an email center with computers at the back of the hall. Name badges must be worn for admittance. Email center access will be available Sunday, 7am-5pm; Monday and Tuesday, 7am-5pm; Wednesday, 7am-4:30pm.
Interactive Sessions
Be sure to stop by the General Interactive Sessions on Monday and Tuesday, 12:30-2:30pm, in the Convention Center, Ballroom 301 Foyer. On display will be 50+ posters each day on diverse ORMS topics. Authors will be on hand to describe their work during these times. Three prizes will be awarded each day to competition participants. Three subdivisions will also hold focused poster sessions: Energy, Natural Resources & the Environment, Sunday, 4:30-6pm, Convention Center, North Foyer; Transportation Science & Logistics, Monday 4:30-6pm, Convention Cener, North Foyer; and Health Applications, Wednesday, 11am-12:30pm, Convention Center, West 200 Foyer.

Joint SMDM-INFORMS Program
Open to all INFORMS meeting attendees at no additional charge, this program is held in conjunction with the Society of Medical Decision Making, followed by the SMDM Annual Meeting October 17-20 at the Hyatt. The Wednesday afternoon program features two joint sessions and a plenary at 5pm, a panel session with moderator Mark Roberts (University of Pittsburgh), “What Pilots and the Airline Industry can Teach Clinicians and Hospitals about Patient Safety.” Click here for details.

2012 TutORials – Free Access to Meeting Registrants
All attendees receive free access to the INFORMS 2012 TutORials in Operations Research online book concurrently with the meeting. For access, click here and enter your INFORMS member username and password. Your username and password are printed on your conference registration receipt; you can also request that information when you go to the online tutorials site. You can order the 2012 book and previous volumes (CDs 2005-2009) through the TutORials website. For more information, visit INFORMS booths #58-60 in the exhibit hall.
JFIG Luncheon Tickets Available
The Junior Faculty Interest Group (JFIG) will host its annual luncheon and meeting on Monday, October 15, 12:30pm at Kincaid’s Classic American Restaurant, which is located a short walking distance away from the meeting site at 2 South Third Street in Phoenix. A buffet luncheon will be served and the JFIG Paper Competition winners will be announced. All are welcome to attend. Tickets are $25 ($15 for students). Contact meetings@informs.org to register.

Badge Required for Technical Sessions & Meeting Events
Your Phoenix registration badge must be worn to all meeting events. All attendees, including speakers and session chairs, must register and pay the registration fee. Lost badges can be replaced at the INFORMS Registration Desk ($5 fee).
