Violet Chen is a third year Ph.D. student in the operations research program at the Tepper School Business of Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to graduate school, she finished undergraduate at Georgia Tech. Her ongoing research projects study modeling equity and efficiency in optimization, and inverse optimization via online learning. She is involved with the CMU INFORMS student chapter which hosts YinzOR.
Amira Hijazi joined the Ph.D. program in industrial engineering department at North Carolina State University in the fall 2018. Prior to that she got her B.S. in industrial engineering from the Islamic University of Gaza in 2016. Her research interests include using machine learning and optimization techniques to develop risk scores for healthcare and social applications.
Aida Rahmattalabi is a fourth-year Ph.D. student at the University of Southern California. Aida\’s research focuses primarily on designing fair and efficient algorithms to improve the effectiveness of the social network-based interventions. Examples of these include suicide prevention programs, substance abuse interventions, etc.
