The SHINY package is a new software development that leverages the statistical and graphical power of R, making it easy to create powerful and flexible applications that go far beyond the power of Excel. SHINY allows the development and distribution of useful web applications with only a few lines of R code. In this talk we will present an overview of the SHINY package. We will begin by exploring an application used by clinical practitioners to model bacterial resistance to antibiotics. We will then build several basic applications for demonstration while discussing some of the advanced features of SHINY. SHINY (developed by RStudio) and R are both free software issued under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
