Critical Steps in the Process for Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence

Monday, April 12, 3:35-4:15pm EDT

Data analytics with artificial intelligence (AI) are revolutionizing outcomes. As executives, engineers, and practitioners, we apply classical methodologies, fundamental laws from physics, thermodynamics, statistics and probabilities. We have prototyped AI and machine learning techniques to solve problems that would have taken years and proved costly. Applications will use larger amounts of data, combining telemetry, signals, observations, historical events, and behaviors to improve integrity, quality, and accuracy. “Quality experts including Drs. Joseph M. Juran and W. Edwards Deming stress that the vast majority (85 to 94 percent) of the time, the answer is found in the processes are not up to the task of handling all the variations that exist in today’s business climate, and as a result, customer expectations are not met.” If AI projects follow earlier software project paths, we need better processes. The authors’ have converged industrial, systems and software methods enabling successful software-driven AI projects.
