WSC is going virtual!

We are incredibly excited to announce that the Winter Simulation conference is going virtual for 2020.  This virtual-only format will allow us to safely serve our attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and sponsors.  As the COVID-19 pandemic continues its widespread impact without any clear timeline for when it will be safe for large groups to be together, the decision to go virtual was made keeping everyone’s safety as the top priority.  In a virtual format, we will spread the conference across 5 days, instead of the typical 3 day format.  More details to come, but please mark your calendars so you can join other simulation practitioners from around the world on December 14-18, 2020.

This change in format brings some exciting new possibilities and our conference committee is working diligently to bring together a program and virtual experience that you can enjoy from the comfort and safety of your home or workplace. We are going to be using an established and proven online platform to host our event that will allow attendees to watch both recorded and live presentations from our speakers, network with other simulation professionals, visit a virtual exhibitor section, attend user group meetings and participate in live Q/As.   The conference committee is very excited about moving the conference to this online platform because we believe you’ll be able to see more presentations and experience more of the conference than in past years. Conferences and events that have moved virtual in 2020 are showing a significant increase in the number of attendees so we look forward to the fact that more people than ever can participate and experience all the exciting work that is being done in our profession.  We know that the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a lot of simulation and modeling work in multiple areas so we look forward to you sharing your research and applications with us in December.

Thank you for your dedication to WSC and the field of simulation. See you online for the first VIRTUAL Winter Simulation Conference December 14-18, 2020.

Winter Simulation Conference 2020

Simulation Drives Innovation

December 14-18
Virtual Conference

We live in exciting times in which the power of data and computing are at our fingertips. With this increased power comes increased complexity – which invites simulation as a natural tool to help drive innovation. This, in turn, allows us to innovate in the theory and practice of simulation itself. We invite papers that highlight innovations in both simulation theory and applications, with a specific interest in innovative uses of simulation in unconventional areas such as the humanities, social sciences, and the arts.

2020 KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Ben Amaba, PhD, PE, CPIM®, LEED® AP

Chief Technology Officer for the Industrial Sector
IBM Data Sciences and Artificial Intelligence Team Elite

The Rapid Democratization and Integration of Data with Simulation, Optimization and Artificial Intelligence

Many CEOs, CTOs, senior executives, and other decision-makers are seeing an advantage from the rise of big data and faster computing power. The question arises: How can all this data drive innovation? The session will explore the future of the Digital Transformation and the use of advanced analytics to create an integrated business model where data becomes more than just a single source of truth, but a strategic asset.
